Are you looking for career advancement or a career change? Do you ever wonder what one needs to do in order to climb up the corporate ladder or what it is like to make a successful career change? As first-generation Chinese Americans or new immigrants, we often face additional or unique challenges in pursuing career development due to cultural differences. The best advice often comes from our fellow Chinese Americans who have been there and know first hand on what it takes to be successful in the corporate world. Northern Illinois Chinese Association (NCA) proudly presents the Professional Development seminar series aiming at providing Chinese Americans a forum for exchanging career development ideas and tips. Our first seminar, “Managing Challenges and Enhancing Career in America”, features speakers from various business sectors. They will share their views on barriers commonly encountered by Chinese Americans on the jobs as well as the skills and attributes essential for career advancement. Those who have made successful career changes will share their personal experience in planning and managing transitions. This is a great networking opportunity with your fellow Chinese Americans. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
